Requirements
  • Preferred field(s) of study: Public Policy, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Entrepreneurship
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM and complete the entirety of the 10-week program
Responsibilities
  • With support from their supervisor, complete a research project from start to finish, which can include:
  • Learning about the topic of their research project and preparing a scope of work that outlines how they plan to prepare the research memo
  • Gathering qualitative and quantitative data (including desktop research and interviews), and conducting analysis (including financial modelling, as needed)
  • Developing policy recommendations as required by specific project assignments
  • Creating a PowerPoint presentation / memo that communicate key project findings and recommendations
  • Present outputs from their research project to EDC’s senior staff
  • The intern may also be asked to take up other duties to support ongoing Strategy team projects
