We’re expanding our team and looking for a highly skilled Solution Engineer to support our sales process and drive technical success for our mid-market and enterprise customers.
Role Overview:
As a Solution Engineer at Trolley, you will be the technical expert supporting our sales team throughout the sales process, delivering product demos, building custom workflows, and guiding customers through complex integrations. You’ll work with prospective clients to understand their technical needs and offer tailored solutions using our APIs, Zapier, and other integration tools. In addition, you will collaborate with the customer success team to ensure seamless implementation of Trolley’s solutions. You will be a key project manager on both sides of the sale - helping prospects map the required technical and process changes to their current state to reach their desired outcome, and then supporting those customers through their implementation alongside our CSM team.
Your time will be focused 80% on new business solutioning with Sales and 20% on supporting implementations with our Customer Success team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the go-to product expert, understanding Trolley’s platform in-depth and articulating its value to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Project Management: Lead the planning for complex integrations and support the delivery of these plans through implementation. Solution Design: Design and develop custom workflows using APIs, Zapier, and data connectors that meet unique customer requirements.
- Product Demos: Deliver engaging product demos tailored to client needs, clearly demonstrating how Trolley’s solutions can integrate into their systems and solve specific business challenges.
- Implementation Assistance: Partner with the customer success team during complex projects, assisting with integrations, building proofs of concept, and ensuring smooth onboarding.
- Technical Consultation: Consult with clients on best practices for using Trolley’s platform, identifying potential improvements and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product and engineering teams to relay customer feedback, feature requests, and emerging use cases.
Requirements:
- Technical Skills:
- Strong experience with APIs, including designing, testing, and integrating.
- Proficient in using tools like Zapier for workflow automation.
- Experience with sandbox environments and creating proofs of concept.
- Familiarity with data connectors and systems integration.
- Experience:
- 3+ years in a Solution Engineer or similar technical role supporting sales teams, preferably in a SaaS or fintech environment.
- Proven track record of working with mid-market and enterprise clients.
- Experience building complex implementation plans and mapping staggered product rollouts with customer requirements.
- Experience with payment platforms or fintech products is a plus.
- Customer Focus: Ability to understand customer needs and propose technical solutions that deliver value and drive revenue.
- Communication: Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Geographic Scope: Comfortable working with US-based clients, with occasional support for clients in Europe and Australia.
