Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging equipment is required.
  • The role requires frequent reaching, pulling, and use of fine motor skills while installing, servicing, and maintaining medical equipment.
  • The role requires frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, balancing, or other body maneuvering while servicing or inspecting medical equipment.
  • The role requires frequent operation of tools and machinery using hand or foot controls, including drills, saws, and electronic test equipment, while servicing medical equipment.
  • The role requires frequently lifting, carrying, or otherwise moving up to 50 pounds while working with medical equipment.
  • Travel may be required based on customer or business needs.
  • A valid driver's license is required; variable travel requirements depending on the primary site may require use of a personal vehicle.
  • A two-year degree in a technical or electronics field or equivalent experience is required. This requirement is waived for applicants with TRIMEDX Trained Certification or an equivalent biomedical-related certification program.
  • Complex computer skills are required, including the ability to interpret error codes, defragment hard drives, replace power supplies, and interpret computer codes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and networking applications is required.
  • The ability to integrate information from a variety of sources is required.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, and operation verification procedures on complex medical imaging equipment.
  • Repair, install, and calibrate complex medical imaging equipment and systems.
  • Inform supervisors about repair status, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and customer concerns.
  • Work with, direct, and document subcontractor, vendor, and outside service technician activities to ensure proper service delivery.
  • Maintain clinical engineering expertise through ongoing training and education.
  • Lead assigned Service Operations special projects and contribute to the development of others through mentoring and sharing expertise.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, performance assurance schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
  • Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan, regulatory agency requirements, and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
  • Work with the Medical Physicist on accurate and aligned radiation outputs to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians.
  • Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of the organizations served.
  • Represent TRIMEDX services positively by integrating organizational core values into job performance.
  • Perform periodic inspections of inventory status and maintain an inventory of common failure parts to ensure equipment uptime.
  • Verify completion of security analysis for new customer equipment.
  • Perform incoming inspections to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial and evaluation, rental, loaner, and permanently assigned equipment.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, performance assurance schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
  • Make recommendations regarding inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Q: WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? A: I grew up in Leechburg, Pennsylvania. Q: Where did you receive your HTM training/education? A: Penn State New Kensington Q: How did you first discover HTM? A: My father is a Penn State alumnus who is very involved with the school. When I was exploring colleges he connected me with the director of the program, Joie. That conversation introduced me to the field. Q: Why (or how) did you choose to get into this field? A: I've always loved the idea of working in healthcare but knew directly working with patients was not the right fit for me. Fixing things has always come naturally so when I discovered I could combine healthcare with technical problem solving, I knew it was a perfect fit. Q: What do you like most about your position? A: I love that every day is an opportunity to learn something new. Medical equipment is constantly evolving, so staying current with how devices are built and maintained requires ongoing learning and growth. Q: What interests you the most about HTM? A: Biomeds are often the hidden heroes of healthcare. Most people do not realize the work we do behind the scenes to keep critical equipment safe and reliable. When something goes wrong and we step in to solve the problem, it directly impacts patient care.
