Responsibilities
  • Serves as the initial contact person for families and potential clients through telephone, email, or other electronic communication.
  • Responsible for answering questions regarding programs and services.
  • Explains insurance benefits information and financial responsibility to prospective clients.
  • Maintains client CRM files and appropriately documents all correspondence with prospective clients and their families.
  • Prepares appropriate email contents to be sent to clients.
  • Ensures that all required client information and documents are received and filed appropriately into Acorn Health systems.
  • Contacts physicians’ offices to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Utilizes appropriate communication channels to communicate with the authorizations department, clinical team, and Admissions leadership to effectively manage the wait list.
  • Maintains communication and updates client availability for wait listed clients and in the practice management systems on a regular basis.
  • Stays updated on any process developments and/or issues related to admissions and adheres to department guidelines.
  • Requirement: Admissions Specialists must be able to keep Eastern Standard Time business hours. Most working days begin at 8:30 AM EST and end at 5:00 PM EST. Admissions Specialists rotate a late shift schedule beginning at 9:30 AM EST and ending at 6:00 PM EST based on business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the healthcare field
  • 1 year of experience in client onboarding in healthcare or related industry
  • 1 year of experience working within a call center environment
