Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 15 years of experience in large-scale capital project delivery within power generation or process industries.
  • Demonstrated full-lifecycle delivery of at least one combined-cycle gas turbine power plant project from development through commissioning, with deep experience in gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Experience delivering projects for a regulated utility, independent power producer, or engineering, procurement, and construction contractor, including projects exceeding $500 million in total installed cost.
  • Strong leadership experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams across engineering, permitting, construction, commissioning, and technology or generative artificial intelligence enablement.
  • Expertise in project delivery models including engineering, procurement, and construction; engineering, procurement, and construction management; and/or multi-prime contracting, with strong understanding of project controls including cost management, scheduling, and risk management.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the single point of accountability to utility clients for full-lifecycle professional services support on a multi-unit utility-scale combined-cycle gas turbine project, from early development through commissioning, turnover, and operations.
  • Establish and lead the integrated project organization across engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls.
  • Provide executive-level leadership to align project objectives with the business case, regulatory commitments, and operational requirements.
  • Lead early project development activities including site development, permitting strategy, commercial structuring, and execution planning.
  • Oversee preliminary engineering, original equipment manufacturer engagement, and long-lead equipment reservation strategies.
  • Direct development of Class III cost estimates, integrated Level 2 and Level 3 schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Define contracting strategy and lead contractor sourcing and negotiations.
  • Ensure readiness for regulatory approvals and investment decisions through structured stage-gate processes.
  • Lead project execution, including detailed engineering oversight, procurement, construction management, and commissioning.
  • Ensure safe, predictable, and high-quality construction and installation of major plant systems, including gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Oversee integrated schedule and cost performance in alignment with contractual commitments and financial targets.
  • Direct construction management and field execution teams, coordinating multiple contractors and work packages.
  • Lead commissioning, startup, and performance testing through substantial completion and commercial operation.
  • Implement and enforce a Project Delivery System, including stage-gate governance and independent assurance reviews.
  • Ensure project controls across cost, schedule, scope, risk, and change management.
  • Provide executive reporting on project performance, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead proactive risk identification and mitigation, including supply-chain, labor, regulatory, and contractor-performance risks.
  • Serve as the primary interface with executive stakeholders, regulators, partners, and contractors.
  • Ensure alignment among the owner, contractors, and key suppliers throughout project delivery.
  • Lead commercial strategy execution, including contract management, claims avoidance and resolution, and performance management.
  • Support regulatory filings, approvals, and stakeholder communications.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, integrated project team across development and execution phases.
  • Mentor and develop project managers, engineers, and project controls professionals.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience serving as an owner's representative or working in an engineering, procurement, and construction management delivery model.
  • Prior experience supporting regulatory approvals, such as a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity or equivalent.
  • Certifications such as Project Management Professional, Program Management Professional, or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International certifications including Certified Cost Professional or Planning and Scheduling Professional.
  • Experience implementing Project Delivery Systems and stage-gate governance models.
  • Familiarity with digital project delivery tools including Primavera P6, Maximo, Procore, and advanced analytics or artificial intelligence tools.

Accenture drops LearnVantage focus, shifts $9B to cybersecurity and mid-market expansion

Accenture is shifting its growth strategy, de-emphasising LearnVantage, a learning and training business it built and promoted heavily in 2024. The company mentioned LearnVantage only once on its June 2026 earnings call, listing it amongst AI enablers rather than highlighting it as a standalone growth driver. Meanwhile, Accenture is redirecting resources toward cybersecurity, which has grown from $700 million in fiscal 2016 to $10 billion in fiscal 2025. The company is acquiring a majority stake in an operational technology security specialist, alongside two smaller firms, combining them into a platform for critical infrastructure. These assets generate $208 million in annual recurring revenue, growing at 48%. Accenture's acquisition budget for fiscal 2026 is approximately $9 billion against $73.1 billion in trailing twelve-month revenue. The company has also launched Accenture Edge, targeting mid-market companies. The stock is down 24.3% over the past year.

Accenture acquires Dutch SAP partner McCoy to boost mid-market AI and ERP capabilities

Accenture has agreed to acquire McCoy, a Dutch SAP transformation partner specialising in mid-market companies. Upon closing, McCoy will join Accenture Edge, the firm's mid-market business serving companies with annual revenues between $300 million and $3 billion. Founded in 2012, McCoy operates from the Netherlands with offices in Spain and the Philippines. The company employs over 380 professionals who design, implement and manage SAP solutions across ERP, data and business applications. McCoy holds SAP Gold Partner status and serves clients in high-tech, manufacturing, public sector, utilities and retail. The acquisition will strengthen Accenture Edge's position in the EMEA mid-market whilst expanding SAP modernisation capabilities in the Netherlands. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
