JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator, Global Event Operations is a member of the Global Events Operations team, and is primarily responsible for supporting a wide range of domestic and international event operations functions, including but not limited to transportation and lodging coordination, ballpark logistics, event budget reconciliation, invoice processing, and department-wide administrative support, as needed. This role requires the flexibility to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%), and to be available nights and weekends throughout the year as needed.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
-
4 year degree from an accredited university in hospitality, sports administration, communications, marketing, or related field; OR equivalent relevant experience

Demonstrated ability to problem solve and juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
-
Excellent computer aptitude including demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Drive
-
Excellent organizational, communication, presentation and writing skills
-
Experience in event planning, travel management, and/or logistics preferred
-
Experience managing air charter and ground transportation operations preferred
-
Experience working in a professional sports and/or special event environment preferred
-
Fluency or proficiency in Spanish and other languages preferred
-
An understanding of the history and culture of baseball preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducting Core Work Activities
-
Coordinates operations and logistics for domestic and international MLB events and meetings including All-Star, Little League Classic, Field of Dreams, Draft Combine, World Baseball Classic, International Games, HRDX, Postseason, Winter Meetings, etc.

Manages ballpark operations in various events such as All-Star Game, Postseason, international and domestic special events

Coordinates transportation and lodging arrangements for both domestic and international events

Manages event related RFP process for areas such as event production, transportation, and travel logistics

Prepares purchase orders, maintains purchasing records, tracks orders and ships to event sites

Reviews and maintains individual event budgets and invoices

Serves as point of contact and manages relationships with various business partners and event stakeholders, including but not limited to travel partners, sponsors, licensees, media partners, vendors, etc.

Works cross-functionally with various internal departments on event related specifics, such as partner activations, MLB obligations, etc.

Provides general administrative support for Global Events department, including creating and contributing to departmental PowerPoint presentations, as needed

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $56,000 - $65,000.
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
