Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), or the ability to obtain a BSN within five years of the hire date.
  • An RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • All staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize the case management process to provide quality and safe patient care by identifying the specific needs of the patient and developing the plan of care for discharge with the patient.
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with the patient, the patient's family, and significant others by involving them in each step of the care coordination process and accommodating factors that may influence the discharge plan.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team regarding the patient's plan of care to promote the best possible outcomes and patient and family experience upon discharge.
  • Assess the daily case management workflow and optimize the team's efficiency by gathering census information, reviewing admissions, reconciling admissions, transfers, and discharges against census, and conducting handoffs regarding patients when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the patient, the patient's family, insurance companies, and the multidisciplinary team to determine and coordinate the patient's next level of care.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
