Primary Function:

Responsible, as per training administered, work related to equipment repairs and changeovers, preventive maintenance activities, corrective troubleshooting on machinery and associated electrical and instrumental devices, equipment inspection and installation, equipment system performance improvement. Performs all work in accordance with company policies, procedures and regulations contained in company GMP’S, safety standards, SOP’s and housekeeping standards ECT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:     

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: Responsible for mechanical equipment repair and troubleshooting, process improvements, equipment changeovers, fabrication of machine parts on packaging machinery, as per training administered.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate competency in all requirements for Mechanic Level I
• Describe all machine controls, where trained, and their functions.
• Identify all safety devices and emergency switches on all lines and equipment.
• Verify understanding of all safety procedures, where trained.
• Operate all equipment, where trained, in ADD/BBV areas.
• Operate and interface with online computers.
• Demonstrates Precision Mechanical-troubleshooting abilities, identifies and resolves issues utilizing systematic problem-solving methods specializes in ADD/BBV areas
• Perform changeovers, where trained.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, where trained, on designated equipment.
• Maintains records and documentation as required.
• Maintains work area, tools and equipment in a clean and safe order.
• Provide guidance, assistance, leadership, and training to Mechanic Level I in the performance of their duties.
• Exhibits flexibility acquired through training to be utilized at any position as needed in the company, or elsewhere in the facility, or as a trainer.
• Must be experienced with the ADD/BBV equipment.
• Must have proven success in changeovers and production coverage of the ADD/BBV specific equipment.
• Perform and Document all equipment Challenges that are list per MPI
• Demonstrate good documentation practices on mechanical setup logbooks

Materials:

Machine parts and assemblies, pipe and fittings, lubricants, solutions, electric / electronic devices, changeover parts as per training administered.

Tools and Equipment:

Various hand and power tools, machine shop equipment, as per training administered.

Reports to:

Mechanical Supervision

Supervises:

• Work independently with a minimum amount of supervision or direction or as part of a team or crew. Directs other personal as necessary in the course of their duties.

Education:

• A minimum requirement of four thousand (4,000) OJT hours and one hundred fifty (150) technical training hours. Or has previously trained and successfully completed an equivalent

Experience or Equivalent:

• Three (3+) years equivalent experience as a mechanic I, II with the equivalent technical training.
