Job Description
Teledyne Microwave Solutions has over 50 years of experience in the design, development, and manufacture of sophisticated microwave/RF components and integrated assemblies for the most demanding challenges. Teledyne Microwave Solutions is hiring a Digital Design Engineer that will be responsible for the digital design of integrated circuits and related development. Participates in all phases of physical design, including floor planning, clock synthesis, timing optimization, and signal integrity. Generates functional and design specifications, defines module interfaces, conducts design reviews, and participates in design implementation.
Responsibilities include debugging, verification, and resolving technical issues, innovating intellectual property, developing software/firmware plans, test strategies, and ensure conformity to standards. Proficiency with CMOS design tools and programming in C, Verilog, and Python is required. Knowledge of tools such as BIST, IDDQ, IC Design scripting language, and embedded systems programming, including microcontrollers and FPGAs, is necessary. Proficiency in static timing analysis, constraints, setup and hold time, input/output delays, and trace delays is also required. Familiarity with the SPI communication protocol and other protocols (UART, EPI, Ethernet) is expected. Performs a variety of complex tasks and works on problems of diverse scope, requiring data analysis and evaluation. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works as part of a development team of highly talented designers on integrated circuit design
- Interacts with group to support concurrent chip developments
- Develops mixed signal integrated circuit designs that can achieve unique and demanding applications including:
- Architecture trades and definition
- Modeling and analysis
- Schematic capture
- Circuit simulation
- Layout and physical design
- Debug and verification for individual sub-blocks or top-level integration
- Brings forward innovations in intellectual property, intellectual property reuse and improves workflows and efficiencies through active participation in brainstorming and peer reviews
- Resolves a wide range of technical issues in imaginative as well as practical ways
- Develops Software/Firmware Development Plans
- Develops test strategies, devices, and systems
- Utilize CMOS design tools such as Cadence, Mentor, Synopsis, Libero and Xilinx Vivado to perform design tasks
- Prepares and studies technical drawings to ensure conformity to standards such as MISR-C and customer requirements
- Participates in technical design reviews of existing designs and peer reviews
- Compiles data and writes reports regarding existing and potential design projects
- Briefs others on deliverables, status and progress
- Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts
- Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
- Advanced level experience with digital and ASIC design
- Advanced level experience with RISC or ARM-based microcontrollers
- Programming experience in C language, Verilog and Python
- Utilize IDEs such as Code Composer Studio, Visual Studio, and/or Silicon Labs IDE
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Strong analytical, problem solving, communication and project management skills are required.
- Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university.
- 5-10 years of directly related experience.
- US Citizen and able to attain Security Clearance.
Salary Range:
$112,200.00-$150,260.000
