  • Technical knowledge of flag football.
  • Knowledge of basic offensive and defensive strategies pertaining to flag football.
  • Ability to set up and maintain sporting equipment.
  • Ability to work with youth ages 3 to 16 years old.
  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate skill development techniques.
  • Ability to give clear verbal direction to groups of 10 or more.
  • Ability to follow supervisor instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to deal effectively with emergency situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible in the work schedule.
  • Basic first aid and concussion awareness knowledge.
  • Ability to lift and carry bags of balls and equipment on and off the field with assistance.
  • Ability to set up and take down equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, run, sit, bend, stoop, squat, twist, reach, jump, and swing the arms.
  • Ability to communicate with staff and participants by phone and in person.
  • Ability to instruct, observe, and demonstrate all class program aspects and observe potential dangers.
  • Ability to remember participant names and abilities, follow up with participants, parents, and staff, and respond to emergency situations.
  • Ability to remember and apply policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read accurately and demonstrate logic and verbal communication.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and assess skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound decision-making skills and respond to participant injuries.
  • Ability to make assisted lifts of 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and supervision for a youth flag football team.
  • Set up and take down sports equipment.
  • Keep score and maintain records.
  • Provide general supervision of participants in youth or adult sports leagues.
  • Develop and implement effective practice plans according to participants’ skill levels and ages.
  • Prepare the gym or field for practices and games, including setting up nets and equipment.
  • Maintain the playing area and a safe, supervised environment.
  • Attend to minor accidents and emergency situations in a calm and effective manner.
  • Act as a liaison between players, parents, and the supervisor or specialist.
  • Work under minimal supervision while following program policies.
  • Demonstrate creative ability in age-appropriate class design.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
