Requirements
  • Previous teaching, tutoring, academic support, or related educational experience is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of educational practices and experience working in an academic or student-support environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, and the ability to learn and use program-related technology and recordkeeping systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise initiative, manage responsibilities effectively, and remain self-motivated.
Responsibilities
  • Open and prepare the Learning Center each day to ensure a welcoming, organized, and student-ready environment.
  • Provide snacks to students in accordance with established program procedures.
  • Monitor and document student attendance and follow established parent or guardian notification and communication procedures.
  • Meet individually with students to identify and address personal or academic concerns that may affect their success or place them at risk.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of educational enrichment activities and tutoring programs.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents or guardians and encourage their active involvement in student action plans and academic progress.
  • Maintain positive, professional, and respectful interactions with students, parents or guardians, staff, volunteers, and outside agencies.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to support student and program needs.
  • Work collaboratively with students to establish appropriate and achievable academic goals.
  • Monitor, document, and review student progress toward established academic goals and provide support as needed.
  • Participate in on-site and off-site meetings, training, and program-related activities as required.
  • Assist with maintaining clean, safe, organized, and functional program areas daily.
  • Maintain accurate and timely program records as directed by the Director of Education, including attendance, student files, statistical data, and other required documentation.
  • Meet with the Director of Education weekly to review student progress, program needs, concerns, and priorities.
  • Welcome volunteers and assist with orientation to program expectations, procedures, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Coordinate program activities and maintain effective communication and collaboration with the Family Engagement Specialist.
