Requirements
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces under Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations up to 40 feet below ground.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights up to 20 feet.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 65 pounds and regularly lift over 65 pounds.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to understand written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Working knowledge and experience using tools and testing equipment applicable to pump station maintenance, including basic electrical controls knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret company policies and procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, maps, and road signs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer literacy, including email and internet skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
  • A valid driver's license in good standing, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to pass driving-related exams.
  • Ability to pass a Department of Transportation drug screen, medical certification, physical examination, and road examination.
  • Ability to work in a drug-free workplace.
  • Ability to meet physical demands evaluation requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, replacement, and repair of lift station equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs.
  • Assist with the installation, cleaning, maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of mechanical equipment in sewerage pump stations.
  • Perform diagnostic tests to determine equipment operating efficiency, record permit and other document readings, and prepare reports.
  • Maintain and repair electrical control panels.
  • Respond to trouble alarms during normal working hours and after hours.
  • Work within confined spaces such as manholes and wet wells.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience performing lift station maintenance and repairs.
  • Previous experience working with electrical components, including pumps, alarms, and control panels.
