Responsibilities
  • Works with a cross-functional team to include optics and lasers, digital design, mechanical, systems, software, and PC layout engineers
  • Assist team by conducting design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro-mechanical and optical systems, experimental design circuitry, and specialized test equipment
  • Develop test metrics and methods
  • Perform electrical and optical measurements using test procedures and engineering specifications
  • Work with a cross-functional team to ensure the product functions throughout challenging Design Validation Testing (DVT)
  • Support data collection events (indoors/outdoors)
  • Present test findings to engineers and senior leadership
  • Works with design engineers on schematics and BOMs
  • Assists in component selection
  • Work with team members to order material and qualify incoming product
  • Work on systems in all stages of development: from prototyping to root cause analysis
  • Assist in problem solving exercises such as thermal optimization
  • Lab equipment & experiment set-up (general or specific tasks)
  • Calibration cycle assistance including equipment maintenance support
  • Conduct web searches and technical surveys
  • Support engineering documentation efforts (data files, reports, drawings)
  • Other related tasks (e.g., analysis, report writing, presentations), as necessary
  • Perform maintenance of lab (Clean-up, reorganization, labeling, and disposal)
