Summary  

We are looking for a Site Assistant to join our growing team in Edmonton, Alberta.  

The Opportunity  

As a Site Assistant at Akash Homes, you will be an essential part of the construction team, ensuring our homes are built to the highest standards. You will assist the Site Superintendent in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient job sites while learning and growing within a dynamic work environment.  

What You’ll Work On  

• Maintaining clean and organized job sites, including removing construction waste, sweeping, vacuuming, and shoveling as needed.  

• Ensuring safe and secure access to sites by building temporary walkways and pathways.  

• Supporting quality control by preparing sites for inspections and performing general labor tasks.  

• Coordinating with Site Supervisors and Project Managers on material deliveries, timelines, and workflow.  

• Motivating trade partners and subcontractors to maintain high standards and deadlines.  

• Conducting site inspections, performing quality control checks, and approving completed work.  

• Assisting team members as needed to keep projects running smoothly.  

• Assist with quality control (QC) checks to ensure homes meet Akash standards prior to possession.  

• Prepare homes for pre-occupancy walkthroughs, ensuring they are clean, complete, and ready for client presentation.  

• Support light framing tasks, including the installation of handrails, landings in garages, and other finishing elements as required.  

What You’ll Bring  

• Time Management & Organization: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  

• Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive in identifying and resolving issues on-site, with a willingness to take initiative.  

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of basic construction principles  

• General Labor & Repairs Experience: Skills in framing, drywall, painting, plumbing, installing deck stairs and railings, replacing deck boards, and performing other minor repairs.  

• Construction Tools Proficiency: Comfortable using hand tools and power tools for minor site-related tasks.  

• Teamwork & Independence: Ability to work well with others while also completing tasks independently.  

• Physical Fitness: Capable of lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.  

• Reliable Transportation: A truck is preferred, along with a clean Driver’s Abstract.
