Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field; 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Experience in research security, compliance, or related areas
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to be inclusive and respectful of others
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Master's degree is preferred
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive research reviews to ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations, as outlined in Presidential Memorandum on United States Government-Supported Research and Development National Security Policy (NSPM-33) and the CHIPS and Science Act, including performing detailed risk analyses in response to federal sponsor requests
  • Effectuate and monitor mitigation plans for federal sponsors
  • Review visiting scholar applications and assess potential security risks
  • Collaborate with the Export Control Analyst to perform joint reviews that overlap with export control regulations
  • Assist researchers in understanding and navigating their reporting requirements and mitigating personal and institutional risk
  • Review publications to identify co-authors and funding sources from foreign countries of concern (FCOC)
  • Collaborate with the Education Team on research security training compliance
  • Serve as first line of support for research security inbox and electronic form inquiries, review requests, and phone calls
  • As a member of the larger Conflict of Interest/Conflict of Commitment Program team, cross-train and provide backup coverage in related policy areas
