The Role
BeyondTrust is seeking a Sr Software Development Engineer (Reliability) with a passion for developing robust software and a keen focus on building reliable, scalable, and efficient cloud-based services using advanced orchestration technologies. This role presents a distinctive chance to take the lead in overcoming cloud-scale challenges, shaping the way we build, test, and deliver a pioneering ITDR system with top-notch reliability and performance.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and Maintain Services: Design, build, and maintain highly scalable and resilient customer-facing microservices. Ensure our cloud platform supports multiple product lines efficiently.
- Enhance System Reliability: Implement and manage robust monitoring and alerting systems using Datadog to ensure operational visibility and proactive issue resolution.
- Infrastructure Management: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Terragrunt to automate and streamline our cloud infrastructure provisioning and management processes.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance in system design. Drive the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to align product strategy and delivery. Act as a connector across teams to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Operational Excellence: Participate in operational excellence reviews, create follow-up actions for incident resolution, and continuously work on initiatives to improve the overall reliability of the platform.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in software development: With a demonstrated track record of delivering enterprise-ready cloud-based systems.
- Expertise in Modern Software Practices: Proficiency in languages such as C#, Go, or Java, and experience with API services and microservice architectures.
- Cloud and SRE Skills: Strong background in public cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and SRE practices including designing for scalability, observability, and reliability.
- Tools Proficiency: Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), continuous integration and delivery (GitHub Actions), and monitoring tools (Datadog).
- Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Customer and Business Focus: Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to align technical solutions with business objectives.
