Requirements
  • As the Technical Design Lead at Harper Wilde, you should be comfortable wearing a lot of hats - you will help with day-to-day tasks at every stage of Technical Design, from concept to the collaboration on initial design specs to owning the execution of those designs with our manufacturers through final production and TOP approval
  • You will oversee the Technical Design Team including internal and external Technical Leads to ensure consistency across suppliers
  • We are looking for someone who is proficient in Bras, Underwear, Active and Apparel technical design, construction, fitting, grading, establishing fit standards and blocks through a range of sizes across Misses through extended Plus sizes
  • You should be resourceful, well-organized, energetic and ready and willing to Lead our growing design and development team and work cross-functionally with additional departments across the organization
  • Bachelor's degree in apparel design or relevant field preferred
  • 10+ years experience in Bra and Underwear Technical design, including fit and tech pack creation
  • Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, fit and grading through extended Plus sizes
  • Experience in establishing Blocks and Standards/Points of measurement
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience setting up and working in a PLM
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Great sense of humor

Responsibilities
  • Oversee product life cycle from concept to tech pack through to fittings and final production
  • Lead the tech pack process with Design and maintenance of specs for new designs in line with our brand and product expansion strategy
  • Be the expert in Fit and Technical Design across an inclusive range of sizes
  • Establish Harper Wilde Grading standards across all size buckets and multiple categories
  • Build, update and maintain detailed spec sheets for all styles
  • Schedule, Prep, Conduct and Recap all fit sessions
  • Attend and conduct all fittings in conjunction with Tech Designer and vendor partners to create brand right fits and product standards
  • Create and maintain vendor notes and updates on tech packs from fittings for internal and external teams inclusive of base size fits, grading and garment collateral information
  • Oversee daily correspondence with vendors, sending and tracking comments and follow up on prototypes and fit sample dispatch dates, ensuring calendar deadlines are met
  • Build, manage and maintain sample tracking logs
  • Manage the entire process of Wear Tests from participant outreach and selection, creation of surveys, shipment of samples to participants, consolidating feedback and reporting out to Teams for alignment on final fit corrections
  • Review, approve and maintain PP/TOPs for library of final production reference
  • Create and update size charts for all styles/collections
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize self and team accordingly based on urgency of each deliverable
  • Act as a technical expert and mentor others to efficiently interpret technical recaps to broader Teams
  • Collaborate with teams to review data around returns and any improvements that may be required for current product along with incorporating feedback in go forward development
  • Have a strategic mindset and work to push fit and construction process to next level to ensure best end results for customers
  • Continually research competition in the market for various construction techniques, new technology and fit optimization
