Requirements
  • A high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) credential, or equivalent years of experience is required.
  • Two years of experience are required.
  • For Oklahoma work locations, a Boiler Operator certification from the Oklahoma Department of Labor and either a Mechanical Contractor or Mechanical Journeyman credential from the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board are required.
  • For a Missouri, St. Louis work location, a Stationary Engineer Class 1 license from the City of St. Louis, Missouri is required.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor, operate, and adjust facility equipment and power plant machinery according to defined procedures.
  • Perform scheduled equipment inspections for preventive maintenance programs and maintain records according to policy.
  • Repair broken water and steam lines and install new lines.
  • Perform water and air balancing to ensure proper distribution according to system design.
  • Overhaul and maintain centrifugal, rotor, positive displacement, and multiple-stage feed pumps.
  • Overhaul and maintain multiple-stage air compressors.
  • Overhaul and maintain hot water heating systems.
  • Clean and repair pneumatic and low-voltage regulating controls, steam pressure control valves, heat exchangers, electrical motors, and vacuum pumps.
  • Maintain and upgrade the building automation system and its components, including variable air volume systems, thermostats, and air handling unit controllers.
  • Adjust building automation control strategies as conditions change.
  • Make rounds to inspect facility mechanical equipment and verify proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems when required.
  • Perform maintenance welding and occasional silver soldering and brazing, and sweat copper as needed.
  • Remain alert and work safely.
