Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in Classics or a related field is required at the time of appointment.
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level is required, including courses in ancient Greek language and literature, as well as classics in translation.
Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in ancient Greek language and literature, as well as classics in translation, with the ability to design offerings drawing on the candidate's research interests.
  • Possibly teach Latin.
  • Contribute to the department's scholarly activity and research program.
  • Engage in collaborative work with colleagues in related disciplines.
  • Contribute to the College of Arts and Humanities' Strategic Plan pillars: Transformative Thinking; Boundless Creativity; Expansive Empathy; and Meaningful Futures, including leadership in teaching, mentoring, research, or service toward building an equitable and inclusive scholarly environment and increasing access or participation.
