Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Manage the organization-wide strategy and integration of Advanced Practice Providers within the University of Miami Health System.
  • Manage the Office of Advanced Practice Providers and develop APP initiatives and programming.
  • Directly manage the Directors of Advanced Practice overseeing APPs across Cancer, Ambulatory, Inpatient, and Emergency Care service lines.
  • Provide administrative leadership and professional practice guidance for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive plan aligning APP practice across the system with strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Provide leadership and business development support for inpatient and outpatient patient care divisions.
  • Establish an organizational structure for APPs and create a culture supporting collaboration and participation.
  • Evaluate APP service lines to ensure practice within the full scope of licensure and recommend process and quality improvements.
  • Support new models of health care delivery and collaborate on value-based care delivery models.
  • Lead the development of APP performance metrics and measurement reporting.
  • Promote patient-centered care through mentoring and evidence-based practices.
  • Create and execute strategies for expanding APPs to new sites and growing service lines.
  • Collaborate with APP leaders to formulate policies and procedures consistent with professional practice standards.
  • Review and develop onboarding requirements and educational opportunities for APPs.
  • Participate in collaborative agreement protocols and APP credentialing and recredentialing.
  • Provide expertise on staffing standards and credentialing and recredentialing protocols.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee and labor relations cases involving APPs.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on APP practice for corrective-action decisions.
  • Collaborate with the School of Nursing leadership team on recruitment, residency programs, and adjunct faculty opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Professional Practice Department to align Magnet standards with APP practice.
  • Review APP compliance with documentation and billing standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local APP-related laws, regulations, and rules, including Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Joint Commission, the Agency for Health Care Administration, and the Florida Department of Health.
  • Monitor industry trends and legislation to manage and reduce legal risks.
  • Establish and assess internal controls and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees are trained on internal controls and University policies and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Doctoral of Nursing Practice degree is preferred.
