Position Purpose:
Develops, analyzes, and assists in the administration of compensation programs that meet Home Depot objectives and needs. Evaluates and makes recommendations for changes in company’s compensation programs. Focus may include store, SSC, or executive compensation; incentive plans; equity programs; and diversified business compensation programs. Consults with HR clients or business partners to assist with compensation decisions or issues. Supports day-to-day compensation activities including the production of compensation communications and approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
- 25% Provides day-to-day compensation support including the production of periodic compensation statements and approval forms.
- 25% Utilize analytical and presentation skills to support the development of Board of Directors reporting on compensation programs and annual compensation strategy.
- 20% Prepares ad-hoc compensation analyses as requested by team and business partners. Analyzes, designs and recommends incentive and other special payment plans.
- 10% Performs in-depth market analysis of pay using numerous sources and contacts. Responsible for survey process including determination of appropriate benchmark surveys, active participation in third-party industry meetings, data analysis, and data submission.
- 10% Responsible for life cycle of position and job title management including: documenting, evaluating, establishing pay range, ensuring internal equity, creating job codes, approving and posting the job description.
- 10% Provides consulting to HR partners relating to process, systems support, and problem resolution. Develops written communication packets and administrative documents. Provides platform training to HR partners. Develops and supervises the distribution of reports.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Position typically reports to Senior Manager Compensation
- No direct responsibility for supervising others
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of HR / finance / accounting or other professional analytical experience
- Ability to identify trends and resolve root cause of problems, such as systems issues, policy issues, etc.
Minimum Education:
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
