About The Role
SecurityScorecard is seeking a General Manager, Insurance to run a “startup within a startup.” The GM Insurance is effectively a CEO within a hyper-growth larger organization, and serves as the sole executive and face of the company’s Insurance business.
The role focuses on (1) enabling and accelerating sales/revenue, including customer retention, new logo and upsell; (2) serving as the “voice” of the Insurance customer and working closely with our Tech/Product functions and our customers; and (3) leading all strategic initiatives and innovations.
The candidate must have experience managing a P&L, managing people (both direct and indirect reports), and experience with cybersecurity and risk management solutions for the Insurance industry.
What you’ll do
- Identify, develop, and lead talent on the Insurance team (direct reports and cross-functional indirect reports). This includes people management, training, planning, directing and coordinating the activities of the team to drive revenue growth, product-related changes, and strategic initiatives
- Help retain our customers and acquire new customers, but not a pure quota-carrying role
- Own our Insurance P&L
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the insurance industry for the purpose of aligning SecurityScorecard’s solutions with long term goals of Insurance customers.
- Be the voice of the customer and drive product changes and/or new products with a clear demonstration of financial outcomes (i.e., an ROI)
- Drive all major innovations and strategic initiatives and continue SSC’s status as one of the major players in the cyber insurance startup market
What you bring
- This position requires a polished executive with a results-oriented management style and deep experience in general management, financial and operational responsibilities.
- 10+ years of experience in an executive level role focused on Strategy & Initiatives in the CyberInsurance industry.
- A bias towards action with the ability to identify key issues, define corrective actions, and drive to resolution and accountability.
- Ability to lead and unite teams to put customers first, to make decisions fast, and work collaboratively well with others to solve problems
- Ability to work independently; highly motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate others
- A bias towards action with a relentless focus on delivering results
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, straightforward and professional manner
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree Required, Masters Degree Preferred field
