Requirements
  • Proven experience on complicated electrical test and supply systems both AC and DC.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • The ability to work flexibility with long shifts and overnight if required.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent from an accredited university or college with vocational experience in electrical engineering or experience gained as a Qualified Electrician, able to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure and applications relating to aircraft.
  • Regulatory BS7671 certification or a good working knowledge and ability to answer questions on this subject.
  • Knowledge of aircraft Power Sources and dynamic loads. This may include IDG’s, APU’s, RAT’s, Batteries.
Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Projects within the labs to ensure a safe method of work. This involves the continual assessment of risk in the rig set ups and overview on the techniques, policies, location of resources and efficiency of laboratory, using personal influence or otherwise to ensure all individuals using the facility take pride in their working practices.
  • Insist that all engineers using the facility embrace all necessary EHS policies and have a Zero Tolerance approach against personnel using ‘work arounds’.
  • The Rig Director shall ensure that all test personnel assigned to their team have the appropriate skills for their role and should also ensure that those team members’ skills are captured on their functional departments training matrix.

  • A positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness and a genuine interest & experience in the testing & integration of Large Scale Aircraft Electrical Power systems.
  • Demonstrable success in achieving and exceeding internal customer milestones.
  • Generally working or on-call for most of the hours that the facility is staffed.
  • Good problem solving and solution building skills & proven ability to contribute in a team environment.
  • Safety conscious and pro-active active approach to Risk Assessment.
  • 1st Aider with specific Electrical awareness.
