Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in Washington.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- A formal collaborative agreement with a licensed physician, maintained for the duration of the contract, in accordance with state scope-of-practice requirements.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration registration.
- Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic life support certification.
- Experience in primary care, family medicine, community health, correctional health, or school-based health.
- Experience working with adolescents and young adults ages 16–24.
Responsibilities
- Conduct intake physical examinations, medical assessments, and health histories.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with state law and the collaborative agreement.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized medical treatment plans.
- Provide first aid, emergency response, and stabilization as required.
- Participate in Disability Accommodation Committee meetings and applicant file reviews.
- Collaborate with mental health, substance abuse, dental, and wellness staff to support integrated care.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the Student Health Record.
- Establish and manage medical referrals for specialty and emergency care.
- Participate in quality assurance, audits, training, and Job Corps assessments.
- Provide health education and prevention counseling to students.
- Report significant medical issues, incidents, and trends to the Health and Wellness Director and Center Director as required.
- Ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, Job Corps Policy and Requirements Handbook, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
