Requirements
  • Valid journeyman electrician license with the State of Wisconsin or willingness to obtain
  • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or union training program
  • 12,000 hours worked in Electrical field or 8,000 hours worked and 500 - 1000 classroom hours completed
  • Strong knowledge of local and national electrical codes and regulations
  • Proficiency in using electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Responsibilities
  • Installations and maintenance of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and control systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems; identify and rectify issues with wiring, circuits, fuses, and other components
  • Ensure work complies with local and national electrical codes and stay updated with changes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of electrical systems and components
  • Adhere to safety protocols including use of personal protective equipment and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and project managers to meet project timelines and budgets
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed including work orders, inspections, and materials used
  • Pursue continuing education and attend relevant training and professional development sessions
  • Lead crew as Foreman: supervise, mentor, and direct daily work of electricians, apprentices, and CWs
  • Develop daily and weekly work plans, assign tasks, and adjust priorities to maintain project timelines
  • Inspect ongoing work to ensure quality standards and compliance with specifications and codes
  • Serve as primary on-site contact for project managers, general contractors, and other trades
  • Monitor and coordinate delivery of materials, tools, and equipment
  • Address and resolve on-site issues quickly to prevent delays and maintain safety
  • Enforce safety rules and conduct site safety checks on the crew
  • Provide regular progress updates to project managers regarding work progress, manpower needs, and potential delays
  • Assist in training and skill development of apprentices and less-experienced electricians
