Our rapid growth and continuing success means we have an opening for a future Graphic Designer Student to join our team in St. John’s, NL for a work term. Our graphic designers are responsible for all visual branding of Verafin and create the content that helps us acquire sales leads!

As a part of the marketing communications team, this cross-functional role collaborates with internal teams and team leads regularly to ensure goals and needs are met in the design process. They provide support to Marketing teams on collateral for both online channels, including websites, email communications, online interfaces, web-based advertising, etc. We also assist Development teams with graphic storytelling to be used for internal training, sales presentations, webinars and product demonstrations.As a work term student, you will help contribute to the overall goals and targets of the team.

Role Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in team meetings and check-ins

• Work through assigned projects and tasks in Salesforce, continuously providing updates to the marketing coordinator while adhering to deadlines

• Collaborate and brainstorm with other designers on your creative projects

• Seize the opportunity to research new design skills and tactics, keeping up on design and marketing trends

Essential Skills & Experience

• Currently completing a graphic design college program

• Proficient with MicrosoftPowerPoint and Word

• Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite including Aftereffects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.

• Detail-oriented and a good eye for even the smallest of details

• Excellent communication skills and openness to suggestions

• Ability to meet deadlines and utilize excellent time management skills in a rapidly changing environment

• Experience with Motion Graphics/Animation/ Interactive Multimedia would be considered an asset

• HTML/CSS and experience with WordPress would be considered an asset

• Working independently, running a design from start to finish while only pulling in the team where needed

• Understanding the goals of the team, creating the best marketing content while using problem solving skills to achieve team goals
