Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Construction or a Civil-related field, such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering Technology, is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience is accepted.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing the construction of multifamily projects is required.
  • Knowledge of site work, utility infrastructure, structural building, mechanical systems, and interior finishes is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project is required.
  • A solid understanding of construction principles and techniques is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • The ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, and occasionally ladders, and to negotiate work areas under construction is required.
  • The ability to walk through adverse soil conditions and varying grade elevations is required.
  • The ability to perform minimal manual labor and lift or move up to 60 pounds is required.
Responsibilities
  • Organize the sequencing of field operations, staging of materials, and satellite office activities.
  • Prepare project updates, documentation, and related administrative materials.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Ensure work complies with contract documents and specifications.
  • Supervise on-site construction activities so residential projects are built according to design and project commitments.
  • Represent the company to subcontractors, consultants, owners, vendors, and municipal agencies during project execution.
  • Assist project management in obtaining construction-related permits.
  • Coordinate with municipalities and utility providers for service installation and inspection.
  • Conduct preconstruction, subcontractor, and safety meetings.
  • Review scopes of work, project specifications, and drawing details, and provide technical assistance and direction.
  • Ensure safety protocols comply with the company safety program, applicable codes, and regulations.
  • Enforce compliance by on-site personnel with project procedures, requirements, standards, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Coordinate deliveries and material staging to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Inform project management about construction sequencing and scheduling developments.
  • Ensure project work complies with contract documents, specifications, and building code standards.
  • Approve and process monthly subcontractor and vendor payment applications.
  • Advise the project manager on job-related problems and issues.
  • Complete accurate job, progress, and other project documentation.
  • Control the construction process to meet project commitments and turnover dates from project inception through completion and Certificate of Occupancy.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain project organization while solving problems, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification.
  • First Aid and AED training.

NRP Group appoints Andrew Bailey as VP of development for Ohio and Midwest expansion

The NRP Group has appointed Andrew Bailey as vice president of development for Ohio and the Midwest. Bailey brings nearly 20 years of experience in housing policy, public finance and real estate development. In his new role, Bailey will oversee deal origination, site acquisition and public-private partnerships, focusing on affordable, workforce and market-rate housing. He will report to Aaron Pechota, executive vice president of development. Bailey previously served as vice president of real estate development at CHN Housing Partners, leading a 10-person team across Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Before entering the private sector, he directed planning, preservation and development for the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, overseeing the allocation of the state's LIHTC programme and administering over $1 billion in credits and loans. Throughout his career, Bailey has secured more than $2.5 billion in financing across 26 states.
