Requirements
  • Previous claims-based experience with Professional Indemnity.
  • Good understanding of general principles of insurance.
  • Good understanding of London market operations (Lloyds and company markets).
  • Understanding of company objectives and how your role contributes to these.
  • Good knowledge of the claims-handling process.
  • Understanding of the broking and underwriting process.
  • Knowledge of the market within which the company operates, including an awareness of competitors, specific territory knowledge, and cultural awareness.
  • Awareness of the regulatory environment and requirements.
  • Specific systems knowledge relevant to claims processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal, and face-to-face.
Responsibilities
  • Determines own work priorities and activities in line with agreed plans to ensure the achievement of personal and team objectives.
  • Manage assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required.
  • Provide relevant management information to senior management.
  • Develop positive relationships with markets, international brokers, and third-party service providers.
  • Negotiate with markets to achieve the best outcome for the client.
  • Present claims to underwriters, deal with queries, provide feedback, and respond appropriately to clients, insurers, and relevant internal departments.
  • Review and prepare correspondence regarding notifications and claims to ensure products and coverage best meet the client’s risk requirements, business objectives, and compliance standards.
  • Keep clients and insurers advised of developments relating to notifications and claims, collaborating closely with third parties as necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve client queries, following these through to resolution.
  • Ensure up-to-date records are always maintained on the Group systems.
  • Interpret instructions and issues arising, then implement actions according to policies and procedures.
  • Remain aware of external, industry, legal, and regulatory developments to ensure practice and outputs are of a sufficiently high standard.
  • Keep informed of all legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Operating Entity/Group.
