Redwood Materials focuses on battery recycling and the supply chain for lithium-ion batteries. The company recycles used batteries to produce domestic sources of anode and cathode materials, which are essential for battery production. This process not only reduces costs but also addresses sustainability concerns by minimizing the environmental impact associated with transporting critical metals over long distances. Unlike many competitors who rely on overseas sources for these materials, Redwood Materials provides a local solution for U.S. cell manufacturers, helping them to cut expenses and improve their supply chains. The goal of Redwood Materials is to support the growing demand for lithium-ion batteries, which is expected to increase significantly in the coming years, by creating a more efficient and sustainable supply chain.
