Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' relevant experience in a professional services firm
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient at negotiating and managing conflict
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly, with a sense of urgency
  • Flexible in adapting to continually changing priorities and varied personalities

  • Prior experience at a professional services firm is preferred
Responsibilities
  • Assign appropriate client service personnel to engagements. This will involve assessing the engagement needs, reviewing available options, and recommending people that meet client requirements. As needed, challenge the schedule to confirm the most efficient utilization of resources
  • Resolve conflicts with engagement team members. This may involve identifying alternative roles that meet engagement requirements and the developmental goals of staff
  • Balance the needs of the engagement with the preferences of individuals
  • Reassign projects to cope with personnel leaving or joining the firm, or to meet changing client needs
  • Monitor unassigned resources and act as primary point of contact for unassigned staff. Proactively identify assignments for these people
  • Fill open needs on engagements. Proactively identify teams that may be able to release individuals to fill other urgent needs
  • Regularly communicate any changes in personnel on client assignments to all affected
  • Review actual and projected resource utilization reports. Anticipate availability of people and proactively decrease the time that staff/seniors spend available, while balancing the workload of all client-serving individuals
  • Use available scheduling tool to update and forecast hours for projects, track actual utilization, and monitor individual schedules
  • Make staffing decisions based on job skill requirements, timing and personnel continuity
  • Identify over or under-utilized personnel, and work to balance their workload with their peers
  • Negotiate with client-service teams to meet staffing priorities
  • Consult with management to resolve any outstanding issues or conflicts
  • Prepare, analyze and distribute scheduling and utilization reports to management as needed
  • Assist in other office/firm projects as needed
  • Set up, prepare and run staffing meetings with the management group on a regular basis
