Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant work experience, or an Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of overhead electrical distribution systems.
  • One to two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Field experience operating, repairing, and maintaining electric distribution systems is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret basic information on drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to respond to system emergencies and work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in all weather and adverse conditions, including noise, confined spaces, high elevations, elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, and roofs.
  • Ability to work with and near high-voltage or other high-energy systems.
  • Ability to wear and use a full- or half-face respirator in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching for the duration of the workday.
  • Ability to travel to company locations for storm restoration and heat contingencies.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses.
  • Availability on a 24-hour basis for emergency response.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment during system emergencies and support the Incident Command System.
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, the Logica Work Management System.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise personnel performing the installation, repair, maintenance, removal, replacement, testing, and inspection of overhead electrical distribution equipment.
  • Ensure timely availability and delivery of required materials, supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and reliably in accordance with company policies, procedures, engineering plans, specifications, and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Ensure technological advances in overhead devices comply with engineering plans and specifications.
  • Store, handle, and dispose of hazardous materials properly and promptly report environmental violations or releases.
  • Interpret computerized reports and apply them to work-related activities and responsibilities.
  • Monitor subordinate work performance and provide regular coaching to improve performance.
  • Conduct job briefings, job site safety exchanges, driver assessments, AVAIL audits, and vehicle inspections.
  • Promote an inclusive and engaged work culture that supports professionalism, honesty, courtesy, excellence, and teamwork.
  • Support electric operations and construction involving primary and secondary distribution systems.
  • Respond to storms and other emergencies as required.
  • Serve as the emergency call-out supervisor on a rotating basis.
