Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Technology Development team to develop new device technology and customize newly developed device architectures to customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to develop and refine fabrication processes that meet device specifications and yield targets.
  • Develop CMOS logic device technologies supporting high performance compute, mobile, mixed signal, memory controllers, and other broad market applications.
  • Drive the development and implementation of customized semiconductor device technologies, ensuring compatibility with Intel's existing manufacturing processes and platforms.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field of study, with at least 5 years of experience in CMOS device engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in advanced-node semiconductor technology device development.

Intel joins SpaceX and Tesla in Texas chip facility venture for AI and robotics

So I'm going to consider myself an expert in sports recruiting for the time being. But clearly not as expert as some Intel alums who are taking on the industry as a whole. Meet Rule42 Sports Technology Group. Today, athlete discovery still runs largely on word-of-mouth, personal connections and expensive travel showcases. It's a system that favors families and organizations that can afford to pay to play, while leaving out many athletes who aren't able to participate. The problem is even more acute in women's sports, where scouting infrastructure, data and dedicated tools are either completely absent or years behind men's sports, leaving countless talented athletes overlooked simply because no one built the systems to find them. Intel ships Wi-Fi driver 24.60.0 with stability and compliance fixes. Intel has released Wi-Fi driver package 24.60.0 for Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11, bringing wireless stability and functionality improvements without introducing a major new feature. The update also improves regional regulatory compliance across a broad range of Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6, and older Intel Wireless-AC adapters. Stability is the main change. The package installs driver version 24.60.0.3 and focuses on fewer connection and functionality problems. Intel also describes minor performance, stability, and vendor-specific fixes, making this a maintenance release rather than a feature upgrade. Broad adapter support. Supported hardware includes Intel's Wi-Fi 7 BE200-series adapters, Wi-Fi 6E models such as the AX210 and AX211, Wi-Fi 6 adapters including the AX201 and AX203, and Wireless-AC 9260-, 946x-, and 9560-series devices. Industrial, embedded, and IoT versions of the AX210 and 9260 are included as well. Deployment considerations. The release continues Intel's participation in Microsoft's K2 initiative, which targets improvements to the overall Windows ecosystem through higher-quality drivers and system components. Intel highlights IT administrators, large organizations, universities, and medical centers as primary users of its installation and deployment tools, although smaller environments can use them too.

EU's von der Leyen hails Infineon factory as chip production milestone for Europe. 3 years ago Read Time: 1 Minute, 45 Second European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday hailed the construction of a new factory by Germany's Infineon a milestone in mass chip production as Europe tries to capture a larger slice of the strategic industry. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of Infineon's factory in the German city of Dresden, von der Leyen said it was a step in Europe's goal of doubling its share of global chip production to 20% by 2030 by quadrupling its current capacity. But she warned that Europe was still too dependent for raw materials on individual suppliers, citing in particular that China has a 76% share of producing the silicon metals needed in chip production. The European Union wants to catch up with Asia and the United States and reduce its reliance on Asia at a time of heightened tensions between Taipei and Beijing. The bloc last month agreed a 43-billion-euro ($47 billion) chip subsidies plan in a bid to secure supplies of critical components after COVID-19 lockdowns caused shortages that hurt output of everything from phones to cars and refrigerators. "We are all experiencing how drastically geopolitical risks have grown. This is why it is vital that we in Europe strengthen the supply chains of our most important goods and technologies," von der Leyen said in a speech. "This also means broadening our position when it comes to chips and having more of our own capacity available. For semiconductors, which are so vital, we need more mass production here in Europe." Infineon expects production at the 5-billion-euro semiconductor plant, the largest investment in the company's history, to start in 2026. Other chip manufacturers are also currently investing in Germany. The US group Wolfspeed is building a plant in Saarland, investing 2.75 billion euros. Intel is building a large factory in Magdeburg.
