Requirements
  • Demonstrated skill in budgetary analysis and control, including reconciling ledgers and monitoring expenditures based on existing revenue and cost data.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess financial information, anticipate problems, develop alternative solutions, make recommendations, and implement changes.
  • Demonstrated skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds to effectively obtain and convey information.
  • Proficiency operating a Windows-based computer, including software such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers and occasionally assist outside assigned duties to help complete the department's mission.
  • Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to create and maintain individualized Excel spreadsheets to track funding at professors' request.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience or training.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old and complete satisfactory background and Live Scan background investigations before employment.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to two years of experience with purchasing, reimbursements, and general UCLA financial management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with UCLA PAMS, the RAPID Close-out tool, and Cayuse.
  • Experience with the Effort Reporting System, Monetary Transfer of Funds, Recharge Order Request, P-Card management, T&E Card management, gift processing, and Gift & Sales/Service Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of university accounting and other administrative policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of federal and state contract and grant fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency using BruinBuy Plus, Connexxus, UCPath, UCTRS, and CashNet.
