Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in digital transformation, industrial automation, or smart factory initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and retrofit planning for production and testing machinery
  • Experience with MES systems (e.g., MSCADA), OT/IT integration, and fieldbus technologies
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, industrial IoT, and machine connectivity protocols
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Python) to monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles in industrial environments
Responsibilities
  • Implementation of digitization initiatives and projects according to Connected Factory strategic objectives and targets in horizontal cooperation with corporate areas
  • Supervision of internal and external projects in the field of digitalization and automation
  • Planning and technical implementation of production and testing machinery PLC retrofits, PLC programming for machine connectivity (OT, fieldbus/PLC layer), AVC
  • Integration of the location into MES System (MSCADA)
  • Further development and improvement of process data acquisition at the location
  • Strengthen the FST digitization network
  • Development of methods and tools to stabilize data recording
  • Support of internal SME structure regarding digitalization
  • Lead change initiatives to encourage the adoption of new digital tools and processes on shopfloor, including training employees, addressing resistance, and ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous learning
  • Collaborate with various departments and other locations to optimize processes, focusing on automation, redundancy reduction, and system integration
  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess process effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Support creating and executing strategies to integrate digital technologies into business processes
  • Oversee digital transformation projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement digital solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Work closely with various departments to understand their needs and ensure digital solutions align with business goals
  • Support the integration of new digital tools and platforms, ensuring seamless adoption and minimal disruption
  • Utilize data analytics to monitor the effectiveness of digital initiatives and provide insights for continuous improvement
  • Drive change management efforts to foster a culture of innovation and digital adoption within the plant.

Nilfisk shareholders get more time to consider $158-per-share takeover bid from Freudenberg

Nilfisk shareholders have until 8 April to accept a takeover offer from German conglomerate Freudenberg, the Danish company announced Thursday. The deadline was extended from this week. Freudenberg offered DKK 140 per share in December, valuing Nilfisk at nearly DKK 3.8 billion. The deal requires acceptance from shareholders representing over 90% of shares. Currently, shareholders holding 81.2% have accepted. Major shareholders Kirkbi Invest, Ferd and PrimeStone Capital, along with Nilfisk's board and management, controlling 50.9% of shares, committed to accepting in December. If successful, Freudenberg intends to delist Nilfisk from the Danish stock exchange. Founded in 1906, Nilfisk manufactures cleaning machines and employs approximately 4,500 people globally, selling products in over 100 countries.

Freudenberg Italia acquires Eulip to strengthen Capol's food ingredients business

Freudenberg Italia has acquired Eulip, a Parma-based manufacturer of specialised vegetable oils and fats. Eulip will join Capol, the food and beverage ingredients business unit of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities. The parties agreed not to disclose financial details of the transaction. Deloitte advised Freudenberg Italia on financial and tax matters, with a team led by partner Paolo Cosentino and senior partner Giorgio Orlandini. Hogan Lovells provided legal counsel. Eulip was advised by Houlihan Lokey, led by managing partner Tommaso Lillo, on transaction structuring. EY partners Marco Ginnasi and Eliana Basile handled accounting and tax matters, whilst Sutich – Barbieri – Sutich provided legal advice. Founded in 1946, Eulip is recognised for its portfolio of specialised vegetable oils and fats and customised solutions.
