  • Every other weekend, 10-hour shifts with flexible start times (10am–8pm, 11am–9pm, or 12pm–10pm)
Responsibilities
  • Participate in the screening of people requesting services
  • Identify potential care needs that require nursing review including clinical disease management, specific profiles (older adults, cognitive/developmental delays, etc.), medical equipment, ongoing therapy needs, eating disorders, addictions, medical condition(s)
  • Assure that care screenings, stabilization, and transfers from admissions are delivered according to Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act and associated regulatory requirements
  • Provide clinical resources to admission staff
  • Collaborate and communicate with intake team members, unit/program team members, and medical staff to plan for incoming admissions including review of medical records, pre-admission staffings, coordination and support for transfers from one facility to Rogers, nurse to nurse reviews, collaboration with medical team for admission accommodation, and direct communication with patient/family for care coordination needs
  • Act as an advocate for patients including informing patients of treatment options, assisting with access to support, providing clear information while being sensitive to stressors, protecting privacy and confidentiality, and engaging in case management tasks to become eligible for admission
  • Complete other admission procedures within the department including working knowledge of insurance, bed status, program availability, callbacks with recommendations, and other duties within scope of practice
  • Be aware of census and program availability; understand levels of care and admission criteria; assist with census management including review of clinical declines and bed/assignment processes
  • Adhere to nursing department and hospital standards of nursing practice and patient care; participate in continuing education and in-service programs; attend required in-services
  • Carry out nursing functions related to patient access to care, staff operations, and department organization; participate in committees and meetings; mentor team members in admissions
  • Participate in projects, continuing education, and professional growth; develop goals with supervision; seek additional tasks as needed
  • Promote department goals and hospital mission; communicate goals; maintain policies; educate staff on regulations; train student interns; understand regulatory compliance; engage in education of other disciplines about regulations
  • Conduct self professionally; maintain organizational skills and timely responses; communicate positively; resolve issues with peers; attend external seminars; model professional behavior; comply with hospital policies; demonstrate accountability and willingness to adjust scheduling as needed; provide support to peers
  • Demonstrate professional appearance; maintain professional demeanor with patients, families, staff, and visitors
  • Education/Training Requirements: LPN license required; Previous psychiatric experience with children, adolescents, and adults preferred; Every other weekend, 10-hour shifts; Flexible hours: 10-8, 11-9, or 12-10
  • Desirable: Registered Nurse Board Certified or Registered Nurse Certification
