Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • The employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, and push objects up to 10 pounds; transport patients weighing up to 250 pounds by wheelchair, bed, or stretcher; stoop, bend, reach above shoulder level, and perceive, hear, and see as specified.
  • The employee must maintain confidentiality and comply with employee, patient, environmental safety, attendance, dress-code, and reporting policies.
Responsibilities
  • Collect and update patients' demographic and insurance information and complete registration in the electronic medical record systems Epic and Systoc.
  • Assess patient acuity in waiting areas, escort patients to exam rooms, gather medical histories, obtain vital signs, and prepare patients and rooms with necessary instruments and equipment.
  • Schedule patients for specialty care, workers' compensation follow-ups, and other clinical services.
  • Perform point-of-care testing and maintain the cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of equipment and exam rooms.
  • Perform reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing for fit-for-duty assessments while following chain-of-custody protocols for urine, saliva, hair, breath, and blood specimens.
  • Assist nursing staff and providers in delivering patient-centered care.
  • Release information appropriately and demonstrate performance improvement in clinical care, customer service, operational processes, and safety.
  • Use resources effectively and efficiently in daily procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Demonstrate competency in patient assessment, treatment range, age-appropriate growth and development knowledge, and communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
