Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A two-year degree in electrical construction, electrical design for construction, or a similar field is preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in BIM coordination or electrical design within the construction industry is required.
  • Experience working on medium-to-large-scale projects involving complex electrical systems is required.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks or Revizto, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
  • Familiarity with BIM standards and model coordination platforms is required.
  • Understanding of electrical systems is required.
  • Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-solving ability and attention to detail and accuracy are required.
  • The ability to sit frequently and occasionally kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl is required.
  • The ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary is required.
  • The ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds is required.
Responsibilities
  • Create, manage, and refine three-dimensional models for electrical systems using Revit.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and industry trades to ensure seamless model integration.
  • Maintain project models according to BIM execution plans and project-specific standards.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve clashes between electrical and other systems using clash detection tools such as Navisworks.
  • Prepare technical drawings that comply with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Generate schedules and bills of materials from BIM models to support procurement and construction teams.
  • Lead BIM coordination meetings and communicate with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing BIM workflows for medium-to-large-scale projects.
  • Manage deadlines and deliverables to ensure timely submission of accurate models and documentation.
  • Support the creation and enforcement of BIM standards and best practices across projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve modeling workflows and implement new tools or processes.
  • Train Designer 1 and Designer 2 employees in BIM best practices and provide technical guidance as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Dynamo scripting or other automation tools for Revit workflows.
  • Experience with cloud-based collaboration tools such as BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards such as the National Electrical Code and International Electrotechnical Commission standards.
