Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, human resources development, or a related field is required.
  • Two years of experience in education, training, orientation, and related consulting experience are required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Strong organizational skills are required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and provide career coaching to incumbent staff seeking job changes or career advancement, focusing on high-demand positions and using personality and interest assessments to support career-path compatibility.
  • Provide regular one-on-one coaching, mentoring, and advising to participants enrolled in academic programs supported by URCP, including guidance on study skills, time management, and overcoming barriers to program completion.
  • Connect students with appropriate resources, including tutoring, academic advisors, and the employee assistance program, and track student progress, maintain records, and follow up on referrals.
  • Coordinate the Career Navigation Service program, including resume-writing and interviewing workshops for program participants.
  • Develop and offer training opportunities for URCP participants based on participant-identified interests and organizational training needs.
  • Manage shadowing experiences for career explorers and maintain relationships with supporting managers.
  • Connect participants with Talent Acquisition, Nurse Recruitment, and other hiring departments across the University of Rochester Medical Center to support placement of new graduates.
  • Participate in monthly screenings of University of Rochester Career Pathways program applicants and facilitate bimonthly orientation sessions for new participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with career navigation and career coaching as workforce-development strategies is preferred.
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • A career coaching certification, such as Certified Career Coach or International Coach Federation certification, or equivalent, within six months of hire is preferred.
