Requirements
- 5+ years progressive experience in general accounting, ideally 4+ years in public accounting
- At least one year of leadership/supervisory experience with a track record of leading a successful team in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis OR a CPA
- Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and technical accounting
- Ability to work independently without considerable oversight, and to act decisively
- Experience in ERP systems
- Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls
- Collaborative approach with the ability to engage various disciplines and stakeholders in an organization
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting activities ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS and internal accounting policies and procedures
- Leadership responsibilities for the Senior/Staff Accountants on the team in Tax, AP, Payroll and General Ledger
- Oversee the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, inter-company, and other balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Prepare, review and issue financial statements in accordance with US GAAP/IFRS
- Review contracts and ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP/IFRS
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, SOX compliance, integrity of corporate data, and best practices
- Manage accounting policies and procedures and lead efforts on process improvements
- Prepare multinational consolidation schedules for the monthly reporting, quarterly reviews, and annual audit
- Prepare and manage benefit plan audit process annually
- Research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements to ensure US GAAP/IFRS compliance
- Drive process improvement at all levels of the organization
- Support internal operational and compliance programs
- Support ad hoc reporting for annual budgeting and planning process
