Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • You have a strong background in ML (PhD or equivalent professional experience), ideally with experience in developing generative models for text-to-speech, audio/music, natural language processing or computer vision
  • You have strong experience with Python, particularly PyTorch and/or Tensorflow and experience with another modern object oriented programming language such as Java, C++, C#, Go, Rust or Typescript
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical ideas with clarity to technical and non-technical people alike
  • Experience in academic or professional setting performing high quality research
  • Develop and experiment with new methods for text-to-speech synthesis, building on the latest research and ideas
  • Be part of an highly motivated research team dedicated to building and creating models at scale for the Speak product area, as well as an active group of machine learning researchers in the Personalization mission and across Spotify
  • Promote and role-model best practices for research and development, sharing your knowledge and experience with other researchers within Speak
  • Collaborate with our engineering and data teams on ideas requiring new infrastructure or new high quality data from world class actors, as well as to help improve our text-to-speech pipelines and help turn proven ideas into a scalable product
