Requirements
  • Previous swim instructor experience is required.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, a StarGuard Elite Lifeguard certification.
  • Must be outgoing, responsible, and reliable.
  • Must teach swim lessons at least once a week.
  • Must be consistently available Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Must be able to teach swim lessons in the water for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job and move or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be physically able to rescue someone drowning or injured in the water.
  • May be exposed to prolonged periods of outdoor work.
Responsibilities
  • Review and confirm the daily swim lesson roster.
  • Communicate program and curriculum goals to families.
  • Serve as a point of contact for swim instructors during lessons.
  • Instruct weekly swim lessons in the water and provide in-water support for other lessons as needed.
  • Apply feedback from the Aquatics Facility Manager to improve lesson quality.
  • Collaborate with instructors during and after lessons to provide feedback and enhance their coaching.
  • Approve swim lesson graduation for students.
  • Run and teach Parent and Me lessons as needed.
  • Oversee and run the Aqua Aerobics programs.
  • Professionally document detailed reports, comments, and other interactions with staff and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 6 months of swim instructor experience.
  • Knowledge of Jackrabbit Technologies and/or OneTeam360.
  • StarGuard Elite Lifeguard certification.
