Requirements
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel, resort, pool, recreation, hospitality, or guest service environment is preferred.
  • Ability to remain professional, calm, and solution-oriented when responding to guest requests or concerns.
  • Ability to recognize and promptly report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, accidents, or other operational issues.
  • Ability to follow established safety procedures, hotel policies, and operational standards consistently.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, sun, and rain.
  • Ability to remain attentive and active throughout the shift while performing guest service and pool area maintenance responsibilities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry supplies and equipment as required to perform essential job duties.
  • Ability to lift and carry towels, supplies, pool equipment, and other items as required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as operationally required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests to the pool area and assist with seating, chairs, umbrellas, towels, and other pool amenities.
  • Maintain knowledge of pool facilities, operating hours, hotel amenities, pool policies, and available Food & Beverage services.
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance throughout the guest's pool experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the pool deck, lounge areas, furniture, cabanas, entrances, and surrounding recreational areas.
  • Inspect pool areas for cleanliness, spills, debris, damaged furniture, safety hazards, or maintenance concerns and promptly report issues.
  • Stock and organize pool towels, amenities, furniture, and guest service supplies.
  • Set up and break down pool areas, including arranging chairs, umbrellas, tables, towels, and other guest amenities.
  • Monitor the condition and presentation of pool furniture, cabanas, umbrellas, and other guest-use equipment and communicate maintenance needs to Engineering or leadership.
  • Monitor pool capacity, hotel policies, guest conduct, and safety procedures and communicate concerns to leadership.
  • Follow pool safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or emergencies to leadership.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures and follow hotel Health & Safety policies.
  • Coordinate with Food & Beverage teams regarding poolside dining and beverage service, guest requests, and special occasions.
  • Assist guests with poolside amenities, including towels, seating, cabanas, umbrellas, and other available services.
  • Support personalized service for VIPs, repeat guests, special occasions, and hotel events taking place in or around the pool area.
  • Protect guest privacy and maintain discretion when interacting with guests and handling personal belongings.
  • Handle guest concerns and service requests, escalating issues to leadership when appropriate.
  • Support service recovery efforts and follow up to ensure guest concerns are resolved.
  • Monitor weather conditions and communicate operational concerns that may affect pool operations.
  • Follow procedures for inclement weather, pool closures, evacuations, and other operational changes.
  • Maintain accurate records, checklists, logs, and other pool-related documentation.
  • Assist with inventory management of pool supplies, amenities, towels, and equipment and communicate replenishment needs.
  • Collaborate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Guest Services, Security, and other hotel departments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance consistent with grooming and uniform standards.
  • Participate in daily briefings, departmental meetings, training sessions, pre-opening initiatives, and hotel-wide programs.
  • Follow Fairmont policies, procedures, service standards, Health & Safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining an engaged and collaborative member of the hotel team.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with luxury service standards.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification as required by the hotel.
  • Lifeguard certification, if required for or applicable to the hotel's pool operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
