Responsibilities
  • Lead transformation efforts to build Lean capabilities, including deploying Lean leadership and strengthening Lean methodologies and strategies at a manufacturing site.
  • Deploy Lean strategy.
  • Execute Lean programs aligned with site priorities and global initiatives.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to establish key performance indicators and drive improvements through Lean principles.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to develop and execute site strategy and create organizational alignment through strategy.
  • Ensure that Lean deployment has an effective supporting operating rhythm.
  • Apply Lean principles and tools to deliver key business outcomes.
  • Deliver business results and scalable Lean capabilities.
  • Develop high-performing Lean leaders across the manufacturing site.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Implement and continuously improve the Stryker Lean toolkit.
  • Teach and deploy Lean tools, including Standard Work, Daily Management, Problem Solving, Kaizen, Value-Stream Mapping, Transactional Process Improvement, Kanban, and 6S.
  • Train and educate employees at all levels on Lean principles and tools.
  • Partner with a supervisor to develop a change management strategy.
  • Drive organizational change to embrace Lean principles and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate communication and provide guidance to ensure successful adoption of Lean practices.
  • Establish and maintain systems for monitoring and reporting the progress and impact of Lean initiatives.
  • Regularly review and adjust strategies based on performance data.
  • Ensure that Lean transformation efforts comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and quality in all Lean initiatives.

Stryker completes first hip surgery using FDA-authorized Apple Vision Pro app SportSuite Vision

Stryker has completed the first surgical procedure using its FDA-authorized SportSuite Vision application on Apple Vision Pro at Duke Health. The hip arthroscopy was performed by orthopaedic surgeon Dr Chad Mather III at the academic medical centre. SportSuite Vision received FDA De Novo authorization on 17 July, making it the first application approved for intraoperative use with Apple Vision Pro. The technology allows surgeons to view arthroscopic video, HipCheck, HipMap and CT imaging within their field of vision during procedures. The spatial computing application aims to reduce reliance on traditional monitors positioned throughout operating rooms. By bringing multiple data sources into the surgeon's field of view, it supports a more streamlined and ergonomic surgical workflow during complex arthroscopic procedures.

Stryker to acquire ZuriMED's rotator cuff augmentation technology for shoulder portfolio

Stryker has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ZuriMED, a privately held developer of the FiberLocker System for rotator cuff repair. The commercialised soft tissue augmentation technology is designed to provide increased biomechanical strength and reduce clinical failure in rotator cuff procedures. According to Stryker, the acquisition will strengthen its shoulder portfolio and expand support for shoulder specialists across sports medicine and arthroplasty. Rotator cuff augmentation is described as one of the fastest-growing areas in sports medicine and a significant opportunity in shoulder care. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Stryker and ZuriMED will operate as separate entities until closing is complete.

Stryker holds steady despite cyber disruption as robotics drive 9% organic growth

Stryker started 2026 with strong underlying demand despite a cyber disruption. The medical technology company reported 9% organic sales growth in the second quarter, with MedSurg & Neurotechnology rising 9.2% and Orthopaedics up 8.6%.
