The Opportunity
Join Nutanix as a Member of Technical Staff 1 on our Catalog team based in San Jose, CA. Your role will focus on core control plane entity management for hybrid cloud infrastructure. These entities include virtual machine disks, virtual machine templates, and appliances, which are pivotal in delivering top-tier end-user infrastructure as a service product to our clients. You’ll spearhead the development of a robust end-user platform, fostering the adoption of best practices to propel our product’s success. This opportunity offers exposure to leading-edge tech, mentorship, and a dynamic environment valuing autonomy and ownership. Expect a diverse scope, from analyzing application needs to designing backend microservices and advocating best practices for various workloads. The projected start timeline is mid-June to early July.

Your Role
·Participate in design discussions and influence data products roadmap to ensure the best solution for requirements from various service teams.
·In this individual contributor (IC) role, candidates may focus on the design and implementation of critical features, improvements for existing features, and ensuring enterprise-grade product quality.
·The main expectation is that candidates should be proficient in clear communication and problem-solving. Showing initiative in collaborating and taking on bigger problem statements is highly desirable and encouraged.
·Drive improvements that lead to increased customer delight and product adoption.
·Work closely with development, test, documentation, product management, and customer support teams to deliver high-quality end-user experience.
·Collaborate with some of the finest engineers in the industry to work on complex challenges in hybrid cloud computing.
·Demonstrate a love of programming. We employ a mix of Python, Golang, Java, and C++ as programming languages for various microservices in our stack.
What You Will Bring
·No more than 12 months of experience with a bachelor’s in computer science or related streams
·A demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and solid computer science fundamentals.
·A genuine interest in backend service areas like distributed systems, operating systems, databases, etc.
·Having an owner’s mindset and experience working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
·Experience with one or more of the following languages (Python, Golang, Java, C++) is desired but not required
·Experience working with APIs and microservices technologies is a big plus
·Experience working with one or more of the cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) is a plus.
·Possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

- The third-round interview, led by the hiring leader or their delegate, focuses on assessing your conceptual knowledge, fit within the team and company culture. It also offers you a chance to inquire about the role, team dynamics, and expectations.
- Final Decision: Finalists can expect feedback within 48 hours of interviewing with the staff.
The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between USD 81,600 and USD 163,800 per year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
