  • Coordinate day-to-day laboratory operations across the analytical lab spaces which may include - performing routine calibration and system suitability tests and working closely with laboratory operations functions to schedule and track instrument maintenance
  • Collaborate across analytical sub-teams to understand consumable usage, stocking location, standards, and sample management to achieve standardized processes to achieve smooth operations. Communicate routinely with the Procurement team on needs and ensure smooth operational changes accordingly
  • Upload and update SOP documentation compliant with standards, coordinate across Ginkgo support teams in SOP generation, and facilitate adoption of new documentation standards
  • Collaborate with Laboratory Operations team to enable report and dashboard generation of instrument utilization and other KPIs. Provide reports to the leadership team to drive resourcing and capital purchasing decisions
  • Monitor quality control deviations across production analytical methods. Work with subject matter experts to drive corrective action if not within acceptable limits
  • Spearhead and lead improvements to lab operations within the Analytical team through inventory management, 5S, and other methodologies in collaboration with Laboratory Operations Specialist
  • Drive improvements in sample and standard preparation working with automation and adjacent operational teams to leverage best practices
  • Interface with our Laboratory Operations as we expand to understand physical constraints of housing analytical instrumentation in lab spaces (heat, nitrogen, electrical, flammable, etc.) and advise on expansion limitations
Desired Qualifications
  • BS/MS degree in analytical chemistry, biotechnology or related field with a minimum of 5 years industry experience working closely with analytical instrumentation
  • Strong working, hands on knowledge of analytical instrumentation including but not limited to LC-MS, GC, Ion chromatography, and LC-RID/UV
  • Demonstrated experience implementing process improvement, with previous implementation of LEAN methodology preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with proven ability to influence in a cross-functional team environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn in a rapidly changing, growing organization
  • Working knowledge of LIMs systems, project planning tools (i.e. Smartsheet, Jira) and laboratory liquid handling automation a plus
