Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Certification as an MRI Technologist.
  • Graduation from an approved two-year radiologic technology program.
  • A valid, current, unrestricted Wisconsin state radiation operator certificate with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions.
  • Current CPR and automated external defibrillator certification.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or registry eligibility, and possession of a permit to practice where applicable.
  • Ability to interact with client personnel and team members autonomously and in a responsible, professional, and ethical manner.
  • Ability to produce high-quality MRI images with minimal supervision while adhering to established protocols and quality standards.
  • Ability to assist the Radiologist with exam interpretation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in healthcare environments.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver at least 60 pounds and assist with patient positioning and transfers.
  • Familiarity with age-specific criteria and competency in all applicable areas.
  • Knowledge of medical anatomy and terminology.
  • Strong organizational, judgment, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain efficient workflow.
  • Professional and cooperative behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management, and visitors.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, as operational needs require.

  • Skill in proper X-ray positioning and techniques and in following prescribed safety standards.
  • Working knowledge of EPIC and McKesson PACS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Adherence to MRI safety standards, infection-prevention protocols, and organizational safety policies.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols.
  • Complete and sign patient screening forms and explain procedures to patients.
  • Maintain patient care, comfort, and safety during examinations.
  • Maintain technical competency through continuing education.
  • Administer contrast agents under the guidance and approval of the site Medical Doctor according to site-specific protocols.
  • Cooperate with facility healthcare personnel and comply with facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current permits to practice in all states where services are performed.
  • Provide images to the facility in the requested site format.
  • Prepare release-of-information requests for patients and outside providers.
  • Perform equipment quality checks, troubleshoot problems, call for service, and notify pertinent team members.
  • Assist with equipment setup and teardown in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean environment inside and outside the facility.
  • Clean the MRI room and prepare it for treatment of subsequent patients.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Comply with all safety policies and regulations, including MRI safety requirements and American College of Radiology phantom-scanning and accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, provide care during examinations, and address patient questions or concerns.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and patient schedules.
