- Monitor workflow, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvements.
- Assist in scheduling manpower, equipment, and work priorities.
- Provide direct leadership and support to supervisors and the hourly workforce.
- Reinforce accountability, attendance, and performance expectations.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development.
- Address employee-relations issues in coordination with Human Resources.
- Maintain communication across all shifts and departments.
- Partner with the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment uptime and reliability.
- Support equipment-usage scheduling for preventive maintenance and repair schedules.
- Help prioritize repairs based on operational impact.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety observations, audits, and incident follow-ups.
- Ensure housekeeping and site-organization standards are maintained.
- Assist in managing budgets, production costs, and operational efficiency.
- Review reports related to production, downtime, labor, and performance metrics.
- Enter production data into key performance indicator trackers.
- Support administrative functions, including documentation, reporting, and purchase-order oversight.
- Maintain relationships with customers and vendors on-site.
- Assist in resolving operational or service-related issues.
- Support business-growth initiatives and continuous-improvement efforts.
- Experience in union environments is a plus.
