Requirements

Using data to learn about the products, processes, and locations associated with subpar customer experiences
Developing an expertise and opinion about this data, and communicating strategic suggestions in business facing white papers
Supporting our colleagues by rigorously measuring the results of various initiatives and suggesting tweaks to programs based on findings, to continually improve performance
Furthering the culture of evidence based decision making by investigating long standing questions about Wayfair's business, and using the resulting insights to help guide strategy
A Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree a plus
1-3 years of relevant, hands-on work experience in a technical work environment
An analytical mindset and fluency in drawing insights from large data sets; advanced SQL skills required; experience with Google Big Query, Python, and/or R a plus
Curiosity and problem-solving skills - dissect and determine root causes of problems, develop and test hypotheses, and communicate results internally to the team
An ability to hit the ground running, a continuous improvement mindset, and the capability to work autonomously

Responsibilities

Analyze data sets that touch every aspect of Operations at Wayfair to identify trends and new opportunities to improve performance, generate strategic suggestions, increase data visibility, and improve the customer experience
Apply good business judgment to develop second- and third-order insights to reduce incidents at Wayfair
Analyze key performance metrics to root-cause issues and drive change
Contribute to the development of tools and datasets that make bring visibility to new areas of the supply chain
Work cross-functionally with external stakeholders and internal groups across Wayfair

Location: Boston (3x per week on-site)

The Global Returns & Incidents Prevention team (GRIP) is focused on improving the Wayfair customer experience while simultaneously reducing post order cost exposure, in the form of incident & return reduction, globally. We are experts in incident and return data, and using it to drive strategy. We endeavor to use data to generate evidence to answer new and existing questions, all in service of improving Wayfair’s ability to create positive customer experiences.

What We Do

The Analytics team within GRIP is focused on:

What You’ll Do
