Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a Business Management-related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of federal accounting or financial management experience is required.
  • Proficiency in preparing Annual Financial Reports, reviewing Journal Vouchers, financial reporting, financial statement crosswalks, and working at or with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service is required.
  • Proficiency with Department of War financial systems such as N-ERP and DAI, and data analytics platforms such as Advana and Jupiter, is required.
  • An active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The candidate must be located in the National Capital Region covering Washington, D.C., Virginia, or Maryland.
  • The candidate must hold or be able to obtain within six months one of the following certifications: Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Government Financial Manager, or Certified Defense Financial Manager.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • The ability to present findings to senior stakeholders is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support the Department of the Navy and the United States Marine Corps with functional accounting activities across financial management operations.
  • Review and verify financial documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Department of War, Department of the Navy, and United States Marine Corps Financial Management Regulations.
  • Reconcile data across financial systems, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Department of War, Department of the Navy, or United States Marine Corps federal financial management, accounting, or audit readiness is preferred.
  • Experience with N-ERP or DAI is preferred.
