Operations Intern/Co-op

SUMMARY

¨Works under the direction of the Operations Trainers

¨Rotating assignments in multiple units to observe operations of refinery departments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

¨Know proper safety procedures for operating in and around the process areas in the refinery

¨Be able to describe operating equipment; pumps, compressors, fans and other process equipment

¨Perform housekeeping duties as required

¨Read and follow all applicable guidelines and procedures

¨Shadow/observe operations personnel to obtain working knowledge of day-to-day operation of refinery units

¨Perform fireguard responsibilities

¨Be able to identify and apply pertinent sections of PSM

¨Successfully complete Operator Trainee Safety Audit

¨Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by supervision

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Must have completed two semesters in a specified technical program at Shelton State Community College or Bevill State Community College.
